MQ began her Physiotherapy career in a rehabilitation centre, working with a multidisciplinary team to treat clients diagnosed with a wide variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Since joining the Neurocore Team in 2013, MQ has been extending her experiences to working with clients with more complex conditions such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, stroke, multiple sclerosis, amputations, chronic pain, as well as other complex orthopedic and neurological conditions.

MQ is an avid volleyball player and believes her love for the sport has constantly motivated her to become a better Physiotherapist. Through rehabilitation of her own sports related injuries and an Achilles reconstruction surgery, MQ is able to see her work from the client’s perspective, which encourages her to critically and objectively evaluate her own treatments. MQ is able to share her own experience of scar tissue management and different phases of post-surgical healing with clients recovering from various surgeries by using various modalities, manual therapy and activity progressions.

MQ has also been using her training from Z-Health, a brain-based approach for treatment, to incorporate vision and vestibular drills to help clients improve their pain, movement and function performance. She has learned that the most efficient movement is generated by a brain which receives the most optimal information from all of our senses including our eyes and vestibular system.

MQ is involved in the education of prospect physiotherapists by acting as a Clinical Instructor for the students in the University of Toronto as well as Queens and Western University. She had received four recognition awards from the University of Toronto for her Clinical Instructor role over the past few years.

MQ is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
