Julia’s education includes:
- Master of Science in Physical Therapy, Queen’s University
- Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, York University
Julia developed her passion for neurological rehabilitation during her clinical internships at Brockville General Hospital and Kingston General Hospital, where she worked in the stroke rehabilitation units. Julia is fascinated by the brain’s potential for neurological adaptation and uses research-informed physiotherapy practices to facilitate positive progress in her clients. Julia’s strong assessment skills help her identify meaningful goals and set realistic treatment plans for her clients who have experience a neurological or orthoapedic condition. She takes a client-centered approach that ensures her clients are actively involved in their care and outcomes.
Julia has experienced the therapeutic benefits of exercise in her own life and has a strong desire to share her love of healthy movement and exercise with others. She believes that exercise should be fun for it to be sustainable. Her favourite forms of movement are Pilates, yoga, tennis, and hiking or snowshoeing through beautiful Ontario trails. Julia combines her passion for active therapy with up-to-date research to create individualized home workout programs for her clients.
Julia is looking forward to developing her skills as a practitioner, with plans to complete additional courses in concussion rehabilitation, neurological assessment and treatment, and scoliosis assessment and treatment.
Julia is in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and Ontario Physiotherapy Association.
