Laura has a strong interest in working with clients of all ages with a variety of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. Laura believes in the importance of evidence-informed practise, staying true to current research but also to what is clinically relevant. She prides herself on delivering client-centred care where clients play an important role in goal-driven treatment plans to reach their full potential. Laura’s keen interest in health and fitness and its role in our overall quality of life has inspired her to join the Physiotherapy profession and help others achieve their optimal health and function.
During her practical education she had worked along the continuum of care in a variety of settings. This included outpatient neurological rehabilitation, Woodstock Rehabilitation and Sport Medicine Clinic with a focus on management of sport injuries and acute and chronic concussions, University Hospital’s outpatient division for orthopaedic surgeries (total joint replacements, ACL repairs, high tibial osteotomies) and the Thoracic Physiotherapy exercise program at Victoria Hospital prescribing and monitoring exercise to those with a variety of lung conditions.
In her spare time Laura enjoys running, cycling, weightlifting and playing baseball. In the upcoming year she will be completing courses in Vestibular Rehabilitation (Intro and Advanced) and McKenzie Part C: Peripheral Joints. Laura plans to certify as a McKenzie Therapist by completing the level system and obtain The Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy Certification (MDT Cert.). She is also interested in taking Introduction to Bobath- The Study of human movement and post-concussion management.
Laura is in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
