Matthew’s education includes:

In 2017, Matthew received the University Health Network Book Prize for ‘academic and clinical excellence in the area of neuroscience and neurological rehabilitation’ at his Physical Therapy program graduation. During his undergraduate degree, he received the Pan American Wheelchair Games Award for his work in the area of leisure and sport for children with physical and cognitive disability.

Matthew has a passion for working with orthopaedic, neurological and chronic/complex pain populations. These interests were further developed throughout his clinical internships in environments such as: a private orthopaedic and sports injury clinic, a private neurological clinic specializing in the Bobath Concept, Lyndhurst Centre for patients post- spinal cord injury, outpatient rehabilitation at Providence Healthcare for adults after orthopedic surgery and amputation, as well as a clinical internship at the renowned Dalhousie Wheelchair Skills Lab in Halifax, NS.

In particular, Matt has a special interest in persistent/chronic pain management techniques and complex pain presentations. He is currently pursuing a Post-graduate Pain Management Certificate program through McGill University in order to further empower his rehabilitative skills and assist clients with chronic pain. Furthermore, Matthew has recently begun lending his clinical experience at the University of Toronto’s Pain Curriculum as a facilitator for the Master of Physiotherapy program. 

Matthew is in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, and is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (Neurosciences Division) and the Ontario Physiotherapy Association.
